Quarry Wall | Newtown, PA
In 2017 a NYCON client was tasked with stabilizing a quarry wall in Newtown, PA in order to comply with a Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulation.

The customer was looking for a cost effective way to quickly and safely comply with the requirement.

The entire project was completed in less than 2 hours from start to finish. Even with a 2” opening, XL-100’s 1.5” fibers did not clog the shotcrete nozzle. Over two years and two tough winters later the shotcrete has maintained its integrity. The job was completed using 1700/lbs of XL-100 (10/lb per CY) for a 170 Cubic Yard Shotcrete project at an estimated material and labor cost of $0.27/sqft vs $0.86/sqft for using welded wire mesh.
